stop telling smart kids that they are destined to achieve greatness, that they just have to try harder. stop telling them they’re wasting their potential. stop pretending that it’s a moral failing to NOT try. stop acting like they owe it to themselves and the world. we’d all have less problems if it were ok to just become mediocre.
bringing this back as a reminder, after being a worker washing dishes cleaning toilets serving tables… totally worth it. I like the repetitiveness of it, and my brain can wander off. the owners realized i knew how to art, and gave me some artsy things to do. it can be fine i promise
